Celebrating Friends

We have stopped by my classroom a few times lately.  Princess drew on the dry erase board.  Her picture of me has a baby in my belly.  The large oval around my head is apparently my hair.

They are getting along...gotta snap a picture before they go back to making each other miserable.

Champ went to Jonah's birthday party yesterday.  Princess and I visited Grandma and Gus instead.  For dinner, we celebrated our neighbor's birthday with a cookout at their house.

Champ entertains a neighbor at the party.

Let's turn this into a dance party!  Then another neighbor hosted a cement beach party.  This is where we crowd around a firepit on someone's driveway.  I put Princess in bed because she was exhausted.  Champ and I roasted s'mores with the neighbors.

Today I helped in Champ's Sunday School room.  We worked in my room for a few hours.  Then we hosted the neighbor girls.

Where Did the Weeds Go?

That was the question Princess asked my mom after seeing the new landscaping in our front yard.

Princess is sporting one of the new outfits that were donated to her.

Dance class tonight

Princess has been taking random pictures of me at the gym.  I'm walking in this photo.

I'm using the bike in this photo.

I'm using the elliptical machine in these photos.  She went for close ups today.

A Lot of Busy Work

I went to church, and then volunteered in the fourth grade classroom after the children's pastor asked me to switch when and where I volunteered.

I spent 3 hours working in my hot classroom before going to the grocery store.

Once home, I browned a pound of hamburger, three pounds of turkey, one pound of turkey sausage, and two packages of turkey sausage patties.

Champ was a great help in making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to freeze.  I also put grapes and carrots in individual baggies.

After Bible time, Princess read to me a Strawberry Shortcake book.  She had memorized a lot of the book.

Colts 5K

Vanessa and I before the event.  I wore a functional outfit, but it was the wrong color.

I loved getting the opportunity to run through the tunnel, just like the Colts players.  From there, we crossed the finish line at the 50 yard line.

The rest of the day was spent cleaning the house, vacuuming, decluttering, cleaning blinds, cleaning the inside part of windows, cleaning out the inside of the fridge, laundry, mowing, etc.

I went to dinner at Panera with Lara, Mel, and Cory.

Glasses

Today we picked up Champ's glasses.  He was so excited to get them.  He was so surprised that he could see so much better when he was wearing them.

Champ went to Game Night at church tonight.  My friend Bekah drove him and her son there.

Consequences

Life is full of choices and temptations.  Poor choices come with consequences.  On the way to the gym tonight, Princess decorated the car door with a pen.  Thankfully, we live a short distance from the gym.  Otherwise, I think she would have kept working on her masterpiece.  Princess lost her tech time for evening (with the exception of using the Bible app).  That meant she had to sit at the gym and do nothing.  Plus, I wouldn't run around the track with her.  I also wouldn't let her go outside and play tonight.

My Mom is Always Sweaty

That is what Princess told me today .  She says it is because I exercise all day.

But, maybe I'm sweaty from...

Wrestling a child to put in eye drops or looking for that baby doll before bed.  Perhaps I'm sweaty from a little girl sleeping too closely to me in the middle of the night.

Maybe it is from trying to find an allergy free glacier lesson.

Maybe I broke a sweat working in Princess's Sunday School class yesterday, especially since she sat on my lap most of the time.

Maybe it was the challenge of keeping two kids quiet and content at a restaurant (Applebee's) followed by ice cream at a bakery.

Maybe it was from weeding while supervising a baseball game with the neighbors.

I'm just glad that she sees me working hard.

Everyone Farts, Except God

I love the things that come out of my kids' mouths.  They crack me up.  When Princess passed gas recently, I asked her why she did that.  She said, "Everyone farts, except God...I think."

Princess took pictures of me in my dance class.  She also snapped a selfie.

I like when Princess stretches with me, or when she does sit-ups with me. A local day care sign recently said something along the lines of...kids are good imitators, give them something good to imitate.

Friday night I took another exercise class.  The kids wanted to join in.

Today we went on errands before heading to a birthday party.  Champ was a great big brother at the party.  Princess wAs a good friend.

New Season

Princess began in the next level up in dance tonight.

Champ can write letters at school.  He wrote this letter to my cousin.  I took a picture of it and sent it to him via the Facebook app.  I heard back from my cousin.  He was touched by the note.  I love when Champ finds ways to bring joy to people's lives.

Weekend One

This was the first weekend after school began.  I ran and walked with Vanessa on Saturday morning. I enjoyed a cup of coffee at her house too.  I have also done recycling, renewed and returned library books, switched a bill, mowed, cleaned the house, browned and froze 3 pounds of ground turkey, cooked and froze 2 turkey sausage packages, baked a turkey bacon package, made salsa chicken in crockpot, baked banana yogurt muffins, baked raspberry yogurt oatmeal muffins, boiled eggs, cut up veggies and placed in portion containers, put chips and crackers in snack bags, made and froze a dozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, went grocery shopping, worked at school for 3 hours, volunteered in a Sunday School class, etc.

We were thrilled to spend a little time with my niece and nephew who were staying with my parents.  Princess and Caroline are too cute together.

We found the girls looking at a search and find book together.

Next, they completed some puzzles.

Who is this goofy guy?

They finished the puzzle!

Free entertainment: knock the box off Papaw's head.

Papaw cracks up the girls.

The kids love when Papaw performs "surgery".  He can give tummyectomies, exchange spots of eyes and armpits, etc.  Super funny!

I love the big laughs that Papaw can get from Joseph.

An hour and a half with cousins wasn't long enough.  Princess cried loudly for a good 20 minutes!
