Princess giggled in delight when she came out to play in the snow.
We invited ourselves over to a neighbor's house so we could sled in their backyard too. The dad was building a track for the sled.
I wouldn't let the kids play on technology all day. Once they got past their disappointment, I loved what I saw. We played Mickey Mouse Yahtzee, which had not been touched in forever. Champ made me a scavenger hunt, complete with maps that took me to the next map. The maps also had sweet comments like "I love you!" Princess started organizing her shoes in a row to practice the jumps for dance class.
Princess and I sorted through her new clothes that my sweet friend Vanessa donated to us.
Our street finally was plowed around 3:00. We took a short trip to the gym. Much to my disappointment, my neighbor was arriving at the same time. I was disappointed because I knew I would have to work harder at the gym. She wouldn't let me slack off. We ran just over 5 miles in the 50 minute time period that I was to complete for Team in Training.
We went ahead and invited ourselves to join these neighbors at the elementary school for sledding. It turned out to be a genius idea on my part. Princess quickly fired me from pushing her sled, and she only wanted their dad to push her sled. Sometimes it pays off not to be good at things! Princess was truly delighted to be sledding...lots of precious giggles.
