Catching Up

Den meeting

Princess found a way to entertain herself at meeting

Champ plays a game at this meeting

Princess was super excited to go on her field trip to the apple orchard.

I have been teaching Princess volleyball.

What a pleasant surprise to see Champ folding clothes without any prompting.

I love when the kids read together.

Princess played at the playground during a party for Champ's friend.

Kids got to pet a bird.

Champ with his buddies from day care.

The kids got to make s'mores at a going away party for Rose.

Reading

I've spent years growing a love for reading within my children.  However, I think Champ may like better when my dad reads to him.  My dad makes up the storyline as he goes.  It cracked Champ up, but it may have alarmed Princess.  Princess has the story memorized and knew he was reading it wrong.

Life Lessons

When I hear Champ reading aloud stories to Princess, it melts my heart.  This was their idea.

After I helped in Champ's Sunday School class, we cleaned the house.  What do you wear to clean the toilets?  She loves that job!

After counting our money, giving a tithe to church, and determining how much should be saved, we headed to the store.  Both kids wanted Pokémon.

Both kids had to scan their own items and pay.

The kids got their own change, stuck it in their bags, and put their change in their banks when they got home.

We tried out the sunroom for the first time last night for dinner.  We loved it so much that we ate dinner there again tonight.

Princess made 6 shots on the tall basket tonight.  Champ was doing a great job of encouraging her.

September is Under Way

Princess was sick this week.  She was diagnosed with strep throat.  Bummer, but I loved the extra girl time.

Cub scouts

Princess thinks she is in cub scouts.

Princess briefly let me put up her hair in a pony tail.

I could probably get places faster if we didn't have to buckle up all the dolls.

Playing play dough

Today's highlights included the Children's Museum and Hot Box.

Music Class: Princess was a little scared of her brother making music too close to her face

Ready to rock climb and coach

End of the day parade

Princess wanted to be in a picture with the dinosaur, but only if Champ stood in the middle.

Princess got brave enough to give the dinosaur a high 5.

Princess slept through Hot Box

Princess Jasmine

Princess received some new items from my sweet friend Vanessa.  She immediately loved the Princess Jasmine dress.  Princess had a fever Monday night.  The chills scared her and made her cry in frustration.  I was up with her multiple times in the night with her.  I had finally gotten her comfortable and fallen back to sleep when Champ came into my room in a panic about the storm.  Princess woke up with a fever yesterday.  Daddy spent the day with her.  Today she threw up her breakfast.  I stayed home with her.  I took a nap during Daniel Tiger.   Then I pushed her in the stroller for a 2.5 mile walk.  She has been so sick that she hasn't had time to enjoy my twice baked potatoes with Greek yogurt replacing the sour cream.   Although Champ has been well, he didn't like the potatoes.
