Productive Saturday

I began the day by sweating at spin class.  After a quick clean up, I headed to Meijer.  I combined Christmas shopping and grocery shopping.  Next was my quarterly hair appointment.

The kids and I played outside.  We enjoyed our first meeting with Ellie, the Rich's new dog, although Princess wanted me to hold her.  Back on our driveway, Champ and I played a basketball game.  Princess rode on her scooter.  Champ lead us in an exercise class.  Class activities included stretching, riding bikes, and lifting weights.  At one point the mailman comes around and hands Champ our mail.  Princess is quick to spot a birthday card for her with money in it.  When I asked her who gave her the money, she quickly replied that the mailman did.

Champ's DVD rental from the library wouldn't work, so we went back to the library to trade DVDs
.  I went back to Meijer with the kids this time.  A grandmother in the store was having a good time watching and listening to Princess and I.  I asked Princess to pick out some items she liked.  Then I showed her possible ways she could spend her money.  She finally decided on a Minnie Mouse song book and a Hello a Kitty book with figurines.  I let Champ spend a little of his own money on a super hero action figure.

Champ was eager to watch his DVD.  While the kids were watching TV, I was busy in the kitchen.  I made burritos, sweet potato fries, and stawberries for dinner.  I also made 24 mashed potato cups to stick in freezer.  In addition, I put together a potato soup that is currently in the crockpot.  I have more potatoes in pantry to cook later in week.  Is it obvious that sweet potatoes were on sale last week, and this week I scored a great deal on a 10 pound bag of potatoes?

Black Friday

Our gang lounged in pajamas for a long time.  I let the kids watch some T.V.

We colored after a homemade pizza lunch.  We also played a few games of Uno.  Champ thinks I have an unfair advantage because Princess is on my team, making it 2 against 2.  I always tell him that he is welcome to have her on his team.

We went to recycle, followed by going to the library.  Princess looked for the following books: pinkalicious, Beranstain Bears, Fancy Nancy, and Barbie.  Champ looked for a lot of superhero books. We sat and browsed through books for quite awhile.  Choosing a movie to rent was rather a quick process today.

A trip to see Grandma and Gus was our next adventure.  The kids demanded a snack pretty early.  They were treated to popcorn.  We showed our loved ones how we play horse and airplane, talked, and colored.

Tonight I put our energy to good use by making chocolate chip cookies with hidden avocados and a loaf of banana bread.  Do you see how enormous the cookies are?

We finished the day by watching Circle of Lights and Dr. Suess's How the grinch Stole Christmas on T.V.

Thanksgiving

Princess actually woke me up this morning to tell me she had to use the restroom.  She had peed at some point in her pull up, but this was the first time that she had requested to pee upon waking up...too bad it was at 6 AM and she never fell back asleep.

The kids loved having car races down their slide today.  Champ even made a flag for us to say the Pledge of Allegiance before the race.  We also built a clubhouse under the deck of the slide.

I ran 4.2 miles, half with Kelly and half on my own.

We went to my sister's house for a yummy dinner.  Princess fell asleep pretty quickly on the way there. She woke up upon arrival at the house.  She was awfully quiet for awhile.  Besides just waking up, she was hesitate around unfamiliar people ( Chris's parents) and 2 dogs (the parents' dog and Matt and Heather's dog).  Champ enjoyed playing a lot with his cousin Connor.  He especially liked playing basement football with Connor and his 2 uncles.  I liked the way Princess was quietly picking up toys in the basement.  They weren't even toys she got out.  She started picking things up and putting them in bins.  Princess received some hair help from Aunt Heather.

We are happy to see the return of the annual winter exhibit.

Thanksgiving Round 1

Last night we enjoyed our annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Munoz house on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  Princess loved bouncing on their indoor trampoline.  Champ liked playing air hockey.  I was really proud of him for being down in a game, persevering, and winning.

Princess Turns 3

My princess turned 3 today.  This morning she was confused that it was her birthday because she didn't have a cake.  I asked her this evening how old she would be tomorrow.  She said 4.

She brought pinkalicious cookies to share at day care.  She got a birthday headband from her teachers.

We gave her a used scooter and princess helmet from the neighbors.

Dinner was at my parents house.  She received her first Barbie dolls from Aunt Becky.  She loved the nail polish and lipgloss from Aunt Heather.  Champ read her her birthday cards.

She was worn out by bedtime.
