August

With school beginning so much earlier this year, August seems to have gone on forever.  School is going well for Champ.  He has a great teacher.

We have been to my friend's neighborhood pool a couple of times.  Kids love it.  Cory ordered pizza to the pool last time.  The kids were really excited about that.  We also went to a neighbor's pool once.  That visit was especially exciting because it was unplanned, so the kids jumped in the pool with their clothes on.

Champ has been playing baseball.  He loves it.  I'm not that thrilled that the kids aren't rotating positions.  They seem a little young to be stuck in a position.

Champ also went to a game night at church and had fun.

We went to the children's museum one day.  I love to watch what the kids like to do each time.

Dirty Fun!

Wednesday evening we walked over to spend time with neighbors before Kelly and I took a bike ride.  We got a big kick out of a sign in the neighborhood that tries to calculate a car's speed.  We tried to get our speed to register.

Last night we hung out some at the Rich yard.  Champ and Abby tried to catch the balls that Eric hit while Princess and Emily would pick up grounded balls.

Champ was thrilled to have a whole week of not getting in trouble at school.  Things seem to be going really well for him this year.

Princess was so excited about wearing her yellow dress today that she wore it to bed last night.  she changed into her Minnie Mouse costume in the evening after getting the dress dirty.  Tonight we went to my school for a back to school cookout.  Champ knew several kids from different sports.  They raced through a bounce house obstacle course before it got too crowded and crazy.  Some of my kids were really sweet to Princess.  Both kids played some on play equipment.  Champ tried his best to dunk Mr. Marshall in the dunk tank, but he missed the target three times.  The kids devoured fruit, popcorn, hot dog, orange drink, and snow cone.  We rushed over to baseball practice. Champ had some great hits.  Princess played with a 2 and a 4 year old.  They found a mud puddle.  I let Princess take off her Minnie Mouse costume and explore the mud.

Keeping up with us!

Summer recently came to a screeching halt.  We enjoyed one more trip to Bekah's pool and had a park date with Vanessa and her kids.  We joined my sister and her boys for a slumber party at my brother's house followed by a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo.

School began again last week.  Champ thinks his teacher is fabulous!  Princess isn't crazy about leaving me for day care or Sunday School.

Saturday the kids and I took Rose House to the state fair.  I had won tickets through the library.  The kids loved the Lego road show, and we won 3 Chima Lego sets through it.  We explored several areas before enjoying the picnic lunch that I brought.  Princess liked petting and feeding goats.  Champ loved playing putt putt.  We made our final stop the dairy barn.

Sunday I volunteered in champ's Sunday school room.  We did errands before Champ's baseball practice.

Tonight the kids took pony rides, jumped in bounce houses, played on the play ground, and got covered in silly string at the Homecroft community evening.  Princess was scared by the mascots. The picnic dinner was a hit too.
