Summer

We celebrated the start of summer on Thursday by going to Chick Fil A.

Friday the kids went to day care while I worked, went to doctor, got a massage, and exercised.  I tried jogging for the first time in 6 weeks.  Champ went with Daddy to a birthday party for an older boy at day care.  Champ had a great time playing laser tag for the first time.  He did bumper cars, golf, bowling, etc.

Today I took a walk at the gym with Christi.  It was hard to leave Princess because she was so snuggly in the morning when she heard I was leaving.  She bounced back when Daddy made pancakes for breakfast.  Our family took a brief trip to my parents' house, as well as to their neighbor's house.  The neighbor gave us a piece of furniture.

We enjoyed a picnic downtown before the 500 parade.  I don't think Princess knew what a parade was.  She liked the horses, Cookie Monster balloon, and other floats/balloons.  Champ liked Angry Birds' balloons and Star Wars themed anything.  From there, we traveled to the children's museum.  Princess loved riding her horse on the carousel.  She also loved the Science Works exhibit with water and boats.  We went to Hot Wheels' exhibit once more before it closes.  Champ said that was his favorite part of the museum today.  We brought home McCallisters for dinner.

Our Week

On Sunday, we started the day with church and groceries.  I was so exhausted from my last month and returning to work that I couldn't help falling asleep in my bed.  Unfortunately I did it at the same time that my fabulous husband did yard work.  Princess found a red marker and painted both her hands and some of the couch before her brother took away the marker.  Without me up to remind princess to pee in the potty, she peed in her underwear and on the carpet.  Our neighbors came over to play later.  Daddy grilled steaks and hamburgers for dinner.

Monday night we loved going to our favorite park.

Tuesday evening we stayed at home.  Daddy made yummy tostadas for dinner while I went to the doctor.  I prepared a breakfast to bring to the employees at day care who care for Princess.

Tonight we endured some light rain at the ballpark.  Champ got a single.  One time he hit an incredible pop fly, but a kid on defense made an incredible catch.  He struck out once too.  Our neighbors came to watch a few kids play.  Princess loved playing with the neighbors.

Wrapping up the week

Wednesday we had the night off.  Thursday was baseball practice at my school.  Princess and I played at the playground at school instead.  Last night we went to a local burger joint.  They had tasty turkey burgers.  We went to a local ice cream joint for dinner.  We ran into erik and Kristen, a couple from Kansas.  Daddy was in hog heaven with people to talk to about Kansas.  We had met the dad once on the playground at Champs school.

This morning daddy and I traded turns walking at the gym.  He took champ with him to play/watch basketball.

Champ had a baseball game with a die hard team.  Champ made 4 hits and 1 run.  He drove in 2 runs.  Princess worked on cleaning up the mud at the ballpark one wet wipe at a time.  She would wipe the dirt, throw the wipe away, and get a new one.  She took her shoes off because they were dirty, but she  didn't realize her feet would get so dirty.  She was filthy.  I enjoyed talking to friends like Michelle Hadley and Jennifer Ridens.

We went to visit Rose House and Lori Anderson.  They are such sweet friends. We loved their house and company.  They served a delicious feast.  We were stuffed.

Now I am going to snuggle with a princess before bed.  We will sing our usual songs:  baa baa black sheep, Abc, and deep and wide.  Tonight she caught herself when she prayed for Minnie instead of her usual mommy, daddy, and brother.  Sometimes she prays for God....I am sure he is thankful since he has the whole world in his hands.

Family Fun

Champ had practice on Thursday.  He had a game on Saturday.  He made great hits that got some other players runs, however he didn't make a run himself.  Daddy umpired the next game.  Champ assisted him.  I bought Princess popcorn.  She and I sat with my co-worker/friend, Jenny Williams.  Jenny gave Princess sunglasses.  I laughed when I looked over and saw that Princess fell asleep.

Yesterday Princess said she was 2 and a half years old.  I had never heard her add the half before.

Princess and I enjoyed looking at the fish tanks at the hospital.

Today Princess was a little constipated.  I asked her if she wants some juice to help her poop.  She said her juice was all gone.  I told her I could get her more.  She says ok.  I had her juice in a cup with a lid.  She pulls the front of her pants out and looks like she is going to pour her drink down her pants.  I laughed and said to drink it.  She just says oh.

Wednesday

Last night Champ had a baseball game.  He does well with hitting the ball.  Princess is too busy to stop and go potty, except when we are at the ballpark.  She loves to make the long walk to the restrooms.  She is starting to learn the number's on kids' shirts.

Today we went to Qdoba for dinner.  Then we did a few errands.

Back to work

Saturday we were busy cleaning out the garage.  We also had baseball pictures and a baseball game.  Champ made two hits.  We went to dinner at Chilis.

On Sunday, I helped in Champ's Sunday school class.  Then we went to Kroger.  There was a delicious luncheon at the church to celebrate volunteers and their families.  The event also included 3 bounce houses.  Princess loved the slide.

Today was my first day back to work.  It was nice to see my students and friends again.  The kids each brought a granola bar to add to a treat bag for me.  The PTO welcomed me back with flowers.  Today was also the kick off to teacher appreciation week.  Each door was beautifully decorated to say thank you in a way that represented the teacher.  My door said something about my room being paradise and included a beach scene because I like to be outside.  They brought us mini cupcakes in 6 varieties.  (I am freezing them for now.). There are gift card drawings for each grade level in the mornings on the announcements.  Plus, they brought desserts for lunch.

April McCracken brought us dinner tonight.  It was nice not to have to accomplish that today too.

We went outside for a little tonight.  Princess said she didn't want daddy to use the " mow dryer.". I wonder if she thinks the blow dryer and lawn mower are the same thing since they are both noisy.

Lazy Days

My days are definitely blending in together.  May snuck up on me.

Christi and her daughter came to visit on Tuesday.  Jennifer and 2 of her 4 boys stopped by this week with a dinner gift card.  Both those friends taught with me at my first elementary school.   Dustin from my current school stopped by last night with dozens of cookies baked by his wife.  Mom's friend Linda brought us a yummy dinner last night.

Today my friend Shelli and her son aiden  took Princess and I downtown to pick up our mini marathon packets.  Although I won't cross the finish line in the race tomorrow, I had been on track until I was stopped by my medical problems.  I still plan on wearing my mini gear with pride.  Our group ate lunch at steak n shake.

I got a great video today showing how excited Princess gets when the school bus drops off her buddy at the end of the day.  However, it also shows her brother rejecting her to show me something special instead.

End of April/ start of May

Yesterday I got to enjoy some of the day with my dad on his birthday.  He was kind enough to chauffeur me to some places.  Champ had a baseball game.  I think he scored two runs.  His team won their second game of the season.

Today the weather was beautiful.  Princess and I enjoyed getting Champ on the bus.  I let her watch TV while I got ready for the day.  We played outside in the morning....water painting the driveway/cars, coloring a mural, walk, etc.  We ate lunch together and napped some.  My sweet friend Vanessa stopped by to chat and bring us a delicious dinner.  Princess was thrilled when the bus came back around and her buddy got off it again.  We did homework and more play time.  When Daddy came home, there was plenty more playtime outside.  We also went to the playground at Champ's school.  Champ and I took a lap around the track at a church.
